Curel Sebum Trouble Care Series

Do you know that excess sebum can aggravate skin sensitivity?

A lot of people who have both conditions – skin sensitivity and oily skin tend to place more emphasis on choosing products that help with their skin sensitivity.

This is not enough. Excess sebum generated will deteriorate as skin gets more alkaline, turning into irritants to cause flare-ups within the skin layers.

Hence it is important to choose products that effectively control skin sensitivity while reducing sebum secretion from the source!

With that, I am going to introduce this particular brand that is the best for sensitive skin, and also, their new skincare range. Ready yet?

Curél, Japan’s No. 1 brand for sensitive Asian skin, introduces a new skincare range specially formulated for sensitive and oily or combination skin types.

The Curél Sebum Care range - comprising a Foaming Wash, Lotion and Moisture Gel - offers the skincare essentials to properly manage both skin sensitivity and sebum secretion.

Main Function the Curél Sebum Care range

1. Strengthen skin barrier function to protect skin against external irritants

-Protects and replenishes ceramide, an essential component of skin, for a more resilient barrier

2. Oil and acne control

-Regulate sebum secretion at the source

What is Ceramide?

Ceramide is THE essential ingredient in skin as it replenishes and helps retain moisture, strengthening the skin’s resilience as a natural barrier against external irritants.

The lack of ceramide weakens this natural barrier, causing skin to be more susceptible to irritants.

Curél Sebum Care Foaming Wash

Ultra fine foam with sebum solvent to thoroughly cleanse dirt and excess sebum while protecting ceramide.

Review:

I'm in love with this Curél Sebum Foaming Wash with a very simple reason; the ultra-fine bubble foam whenever I pump out the foaming wash out.

I do not really need the help of the external facial device to thoroughly cleanse out any remaining dirt and sebum out of my skin.

Usually those deep cleansing would leave skin real tight and uncomfortable, however for this foaming wash, I did not feel any aggravation nor irritation after every wash.

Usage Direction:

Apply appropriate amount (2 full pumps) directly onto wet skin. Do not lather. Gently massage and rinse off thoroughly.

Suggested Retail Price:

S$19.80 for a bottle of 150ml.

Next, let us go into the details of the lotion part.

Curél Sebum Care Lotion

Non-sticky formula prepares skin for better absorption of moisturizer / essence that is used after the lotion.

Review:

I always like toner/lotion that does not requires me to use any cotton pads as I personally feel that it is somehow going to be a real wastage.

The consistency of this lotion is more on the watery side and it absorbs real easily and fast onto my skin.

There is no fragrance smell which assures me that it is indeed fragrance free and it cools down my skin too. I do not really much patting before it is being absorbed.

Usage Direction:

Apply the lotion gently over the whole face, twice a day after cleansing.

Suggested Retail Price:

Curél Sebum Care Lotion is retailing at S$24.90 for a bottle of 150ml.

And lastly, in the final step of this sebum trouble care series, we have the moisture gel.

Curél Sebum Care Moisture Gel

Liquid based gel spreads easily for speedy absorption into deeper layers of skin without leaving skin sticky.

Review:

Unlike most of the moisturizing gels found in the market, this Curél sebum moisture gel is slightly more watery state which makes it easier to be absorbed by the skin without feeling burden on the face.

To me, 3 pumps are more than enough for my whole face, and I can even spread it on my neck area too! Some moisture gels tend be sticky after application, which can make me slightly uncomfortable, however for the Curél sebum moisture gel, there is really minimal and almost no stickiness after it has been fully absorbed by the skin.

Usage Direction:

Apply 3-4 pumps gently over the entire face twice daily.

Suggested Retail Price:

Curél Sebum Care Moisture Gel is retailing at S$34.90 for a bottle of 120ml.

My Review after continuous usage of more than 2 weeks:

At the point of writing this entry, I have already been using the Curél Sebum Trouble Care series for more than 2 weeks going 3.

I noticed that my skin, even during non makeup days, it tends to stay hydrating and moisturizing while my face remains matte for longer hours than before.

Noticed that my skin is no longer that sensitive than before, probably because it helps to re-balance the skin natural PH value back.

I also noticed that it does helps in preventing acne and blemishes, there is a slight result, especially towards the recurrence acne spots that I always have, which I believe is the effect of the antiphlogistic that is infused in the range, which is an active ingredient that helps in relieving inflammation.
